Recreation

PARC Recreation provides recreational opportunities for people with developmental disabilities who live at home with their families in Putnam County. Services are designed to provide people with opportunities to socialize, develop friendships, experience new recreational and community activities, and, most of all, have fun. Participants in the Recreation Program must be OMRDD eligible and live in Putnam County with their families. Participants must also be Waiver eligible and can range in age from school-age to senior citizens. Our goal is to offer socialization and recreational opportunities to participants, as well as providing respite to caregivers.

A variety of activities and events are available, with new and different opportunities available on a regular basis. Events are generally scheduled several times a week during the evenings and weekends. Some of our monthly events include ceramics painting outings, sports training, dinners at local restaurants, and movies. In addition, field trips to Renegades’ baseball games, the Harlem Wizards, Yorktown Stage, community events, and parks are scheduled throughout the year. Participants can pick and choose what they would like to attend, based on their individual interests.
